Project Overview

The Resource Efficiency and Industrial Symbiosis Opportunity Assessment (REISO) is an assessment for businesses to assess, identify, and present opportunities for cost optimization and minimize environmental impact via resource minimization and by-product reutilization. Hence, creates opportunity in increasing manufacturing productivity and profitability.

SIRIM Berhad, an implementing agency under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), is inviting Malaysian forward-thinking companies to participate in REISO program.

This program is fully funded by the Government, to assess the resource efficiency of their operation and manufacturing process leading to potential industrial symbiosis within an industrial park.

Benefit

1. Targeted resource audit of specific production line;
2. Comprehensive assessment to support corporate sustainability reporting underlining:
   • Tracing direct and indirect cost related to material, utilities, and labour,
   • Identification of key areas for potential efficiency improvements,
   • Possible recommendations for resource efficiency and waste minimisation, prioritising low cost/no cost strategies
   • Estimate of benefits, feasibility and savings of the suggested actions and
   • Consideration of environmental aspects of production and materials

• Has been in operation for more than 5 years
• Factory residing within an industrial park
