Project Overview

The Technology – Enabled Support for The Development of Eco-Industrial Parks – Intervention & Digitalisation (herein onwards will be known as MyEIP) project has been mandated to SIRIM Berhad and being implemented from June 2020 until December 2024. The primary objective of the project is to facilitate the transformation of existing industrial parks (IP) towards eco-industrial parks (EIP) based on international best practices. The assessment criteria as documented by the World Bank Group and UNIDO underlines the critical elements required for the establishment of an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable EIP in the efforts to create a standard in ensuring a sustainable industrial development that are aligned with the International EIP Framework.

Benefit

Under the Industrial Park Management application, Industrial Parks (IP) will be able to assess its current performances based on specific criteria in accordance with Environmental, Social and Economic themes. In this assessment, IP and residing tenant companies will provide insights on the level of readiness towards transforming to become an Eco-Industrial Park. In doing so, the overall IP performance can then be obtained and further ranked based on SIRIM 54:2022 ECO-INDUSTRIAL PARK – CLASSIFICATION.By working towards a better Environmental, Social and Economic performance, as defined in the International EIP Framework, Eco-Industrial Parks provide many benefits as below:
